ภูมิปัญญาในอดีตของบรรพบุรุษชาวจังหวัดแพร่นิยมปลูกฝ้าย หม่อน และเลี้ยงไหม สำหรับนำมาทอผ้าไว้ใช้ในครอบครัว
ราษฎรแม่จองไฟ ตำบลห้วยอ้อ อำเภอลอง และตำบลใกล้เคียงทอผ้าตีนจก ผ้ากะเหรี่ยง ผ้าไหม มีลวดลายต่าง ๆ อาทิ ลายนกกินน้ำร่วมกัน ลายสิบสองปันนา ลายโคม ลายโบ้งเลน ลายภูพิงค์ นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการทอผ้าฝ้ายและผ้าไหมที่อำเภอสูงเม่น อำเภอเมือง

    Phrae

The predecessors of the people in Phrae were skillful in growing cotton.Mulberry and raising silk worms for weaving cloth to use in their households.
Villagers in Ban Mae-Jongfai at Huay-Or Sub-district of Long District and surrounding areas weave Tin Jok, and Karen cloth and silk in various patterns, such as Nok-Kin-Nam-Ruam-Kan, Sib-Song-Pan-Na, Khom, Bong-Len and Phu-Phing.
Silk and cotton weaving are commonly found in Sung Men and Mueang Districts also.
